Felipe Faria graduated as a Lawyer with honors in 2004 and completed a Masters in Economic and Corporative Law at Fundação Getúlio Vargas in 2007. At the beginning of his career he worked as a Lawyer and spent three years as the Civil Court Negotiator in the City of Barueri in the State of Sao Paulo. Currently, Felipe is the CEO of the Green Building Council Brasil, an organization that has accelerated the greening of Brazil's construction industry, making it one of the top five markets in the world for LEED, and influencing large-scale projects like the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.
Alongside his 10 years of leadership dedicated full time to GBC Brasil and the sustainable construction movement, Felipe works to promote green building as the best business model in the Brazilian construction industry, no matter the sector and market segment. He previously served as volunteer of the LEED Steering Committee, a group of professionals responsible for maintaining LEED as a global leadership tool. Since April 2016, he has been Chair of the Americas Regional Network, a coalition of countries in North and Latin America which works collaboratively to facilitate the collective and individual strength of Green Building Councils in order to help them achieve high market impact.
