| Brief History: | In October 2009, the major stakeholders in France completed a Memorandum of understanding towards the establishment of a truly influential France GBC. The initiative was presented to WorldGBC during its International Congress on November 10th in Phoenix |
| Description: | Among the Founding Group we count with the French Product/Building certification bodies (QUALITEL, AFNOR and CSTB), Energy Performance organisations (Association EFFINERGIE and IFPEB), the Association HQE and Resobat. The Prospective France GBC also counts with the support of the governement initiative for Sustainable Buildings "Plan Batiment Grenelle". All of us agreed that it is necessary to coordinate and join forces at the national scale and their means of action to foster the improvement of environmental quality of buildings in the shortest time possible. We aim to work together on issues of common interest such as: management of industry improvement, communication, sharing of business case studies, national and international standardization, green certifications and labels, training, definition of the French position and its international expression. |
