Panama Green Building Council has joined the group of international and local organizations that promote the development of sustainable cities through the promotion of sustainable construction and the development of initiatives such as the "International Forum and Expo 2015 on Sustainable Cities."
This International Forum invites decision makers in the public and private sector in order to educate about the latest trends and success stories locally and internationally in the development of sustainable cities.
The Forum and Expo were held on 17 and 18 July, and this year there was a broad portfolio of activities for two days. These activities began with a half day plenary which had speeches from three international speakers and two local speakers on topics related to strategies and methodologies for implementing sustainability in the city. In parallel, there was an Expo with multiple stands of products, projects and sustainable services. On the second day, there were sessions on different topics of sustainable construction, a workshop on EcoDistricts and lectures that provide LEED continuing education hours to LEED accredited professionals.
