Has a single photograph ever made you stop, think, and change your view on something?
The focus of this year’s World Green Building Week is all about changing people’s perspectives on buildings and particularly green buildings. For example, did you know that globally buildings can reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change by up to one third? Or that workers in green offices have 27 per cent higher job satisfaction?
This month, in the run up to and during World Green Building Week (26 September to 2 October), WorldGBC is inviting people, Green Building Councils and their members to change perspectives on buildings through photography, via our ‘Change Your Perspective’ photo competition on social media.
What kind of photos are we looking for?
We want to get at the heart of why green buildings matter – to you. Remember, buildings aren’t just simply structures, they are our homes, our workplaces, our schools, our sports facilities and community centres: the places where we live, create, play, learn, socialise, and much more. The choice of photo is entirely up to you.

What’s the prize?
We have two special green building related prizes to give away! The two photographers who capture the best two photographs - as judged by the WorldGBC team - will each receive a Foobot, a device that helps you to monitor and control indoor air quality.
WorldGBC and a number of Green Building Councils are currently using Foobots to measure the indoor air quality of their offices as part of our Better Places for People campaign on healthy, green buildings.
Foobots detect and measure a number of indicators of indoor air quality such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, particulate matter and volatile organic compounds, and connect to Wifi, displaying data on a mobile app.
The winners will be announced Friday 7 October 2016!
How do I enter?
To enter the competition, and to be eligible to win, participants must:
