World Green Building Week 2016 officially begins today!
After months of planning and preparation, Green Building Councils in over 70 countries around the world - together with many of their member companies in the building and construction industry - will take part in the week, the flagship event of the global green building community.
Through a range of activities from panel debates and seminars, conferences and site visits, quizzes and walking tours, World Green Building Week will highlight how green buildings are the most effective means to achieving a range of environmental, social and economic goals, from addressing climate change to creating sustainable homes, businesses and communities.
2016’s theme is all about changing people’s perspectives. We believe that by sharing interesting and often untold facts and figures, and highlighting the beauty of the buildings and places that people inhabit, we can genuinely change how people think about green buildings. It’s time to change their perspective.
What’s going on?
There are hundreds of events taking place around the world during the week.
The best place to start searching for events is our calendar on the World Green Building Week website. You can also look on the website of the Green Building Council in your country (find out if your country has a Green Building Council in our member directory).
How to get involved?
Here are just a few ideas of how you can make the most of the week.
We hope you’ll join with us from today until the 2 October, to help change people’s perspectives on green buildings and show the world why it’s better to build green!
