Build a better future with us – nominations for new WorldGBC Board members now open

Thursday 01st February 2018

Are you a high-profile senior leader with experience in strategic planning, fundraising and finance? Are you passionate about changing the world and acting on climate change through buildings?

Then we have an outstanding opportunity for you!

WorldGBC is seeking nominations for new members of our Board of Directors, a group of highly experienced professionals who support the drive towards green building.

The Board’s role is to advise and oversee WorldGBC’s organisational strategy and governance, and to ensure we are operating effectively as a not for profit organisation and delivering on our mission of green buildings for everyone, everywhere.

Nominations must be from Established Green Building Councils, and nominees must currently be or have been active at a senior level in a Green Building Council.

They must also:

  • possess excellent business knowledge and have a significant level of influence in their country;
  • have particular expertise in fundraising (with a focus on large grants, corporate sponsorship, and high net worth individuals), accounting and finance, strategic planning and impact assessment; and
  • have significant leadership experience inside and outside of the Green Building Council community, such as in multinational companies or not-for-profit organisations.

It is also essential that Board members represent the best interests of the WorldGBC - not their own organisation, including their nominating Green Building Council.

Tai Lee Siang, current Chair, said: WorldGBC’s Board represents the engine to strategise and oversee implementation of  the best way to transform the building market to a green building market. It is therefore hugely important that board positions are filled by candidates with the passion to change and foresight to lead. I look forward to your nomination.”

If you are interested in building a better future with WorldGBC and joining our Board, please read the full Board of Directors Role Description, download a nomination form, or view a short one page summary.

Board Members must be nominated by an Established Green Building Council by 31 March 2018. For a full list of our Established Green Building Councils, please see our Member Directory and select ‘Established’.
