Join green buildings leaders at COP23 – Registration for ‘Building Action Symposium’ now open

How can the building and construction sector help to achieve the Paris Agreement?

Find out by joining green building leaders at this year’s COP23 climate change conference in Bonn, Germany.

The Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (of which WorldGBC is a member) is hosting a full day event called the Building Action Symposium, which will identify the key ingredients to achieve a low-carbon, energy efficient buildings and construction sector.

Registration for the event, which takes place from 09:00 to 18:00 on Thursday 9 November, at the Giz premises in Bonn, Germany, is now open. Register here.

Sessions at the Symposium include how green buildings can contribute to the sustainable development goals, the role of net zero carbon buildings and how to access the finance needed for the transition.

Speakers include Rainer Baake, the German State Secretary for Energy; Martina Otto, Head of Cities at UN Environment; Dr Christine Lemaitre, CEO of DGNB; Jennifer Layke, Global Director of the WRI Energy Programme, and our CEO Terri Wills.

WorldGBC and Green Building Councils from Germany and the US are also taking part in Human Settlements Day, which takes place in the accredited Bonn Zone on 11 November. Other speakers include Ibrahim AlZubi, Senior Sustainability Advisor at Dubai Land, and Emmanuel Normant, Vice President of Sustainable Development at Saint-Gobain.
