An international conference on Building Sustainibility is being held as a part of Stockholm being the European Green Capital 2010. The focus will be on the succesful urban planning initiatives that were the key to the city chosen. The overall aim of the conference is to discuss how we can achieve long-term urban development and how Stockholm´s experiences can help. The conference is aimed primarily at politicians, officials, investors, developers, and consultants involved in sustainable building. Programme for 19 October The conference programme includes leading Swedish and international speakers. The subjects under discussion will range from sustainable urban planning and energy-efficient building to upgrading ageing buildings and housing stock, technical systems for energy provision, water, wastewater and waste, and how financing institutions are becoming more demanding in terms of a project´s sustainability. Programme for 20 October The entire programme for the day will be devoted to hands-on study tours showing development, redevelopment and renewal projects in the Stockholm area. There will be a range of visits with a more or less in-depth focus on different aspects of sustainable urban planning and building. You are free to choose which projects you want to see.
