GBC Bolivia Hosts International Sustainability Seminar

The Green Building Council Bolivia, a group of internationally engaged professionals of Bolivia, is organizing an International Sustainability Seminar SIS 2011 from July 28th through 30th at Los Tajibos Hotel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.

The goals for the International Sustainability Seminar SIS 2011 are to establish and promote the education, training and exchange of sustainable practices in design and construction, as well as to lay the groundwork for the development of standards and regulations for sustainable developments in Bolivia in collaboration with the private sector and the government.

The focus of the International Sustainability Seminar SIS 2011 will be:

- Programs and policy development with the local and national government.

- Project implementation and management of sustainable resources.

- Environmental design and best practices.

- Development of programs and applications of Green Building Certifications.

- Reduction of energy and water consumption in buildings trough energy efficiency and eco-efficiency strategies.

- Reduction of greenhouse gasses emission through waste management & diversification.

Findings, conclusions and action plans resulting from the International Sustainability Seminar SIS 2011 will contribute directly to the National and State Government, Councils and industry professionals such as Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Developers, Environmentalists, Energy and Water Providers and others.
