Looking Ahead to 2012

December 07, 2011 at 9:20 PM

Mark your calendars for 13 April, the first of two face-to-face Americas Regional Network Meetings. Hosted by the Guatemala GBC, it will follow their inaugural conference, which will itself be part of a series of Road to Rio+20 events in Central America. These events are being held in partnership with UNEP Latin America and will cover the theme of Green Building in the New Green Economy as part of the run up to Rio+20 in June.

The WorldGBC is launching a Global Market Webinar series for GBC members in 2012. The Americas Network is one of the first to seize this opportunity and the Americas Communications Working Group is developing content to deliver a compelling program with leading edge market insight for your members. More information will be coming out on this program in early 2012.

National GBCs also have a number of initiatives planned for 2012:
  • In 2012, the GBC Brasil will launch “Circuito Copa Verde” a project from 2012 up to 2014 of street races (5 and 10 Km) in all 12 capitals where the Brazilian World Cup games will take place, in order to highlight the green initiatives in this Green World Cup.
  • Next year’s Greenbuilding Brasil Conference and Expo will be held from 11 - 13 September.
  • Greenbuild will be held in San Francisco from 13 - 16 November. This will also be the location for the second face-to-face Americas Regional Network meeting.
If you have any upcoming events that you would like share with the Network, please email Michelle Malanca.
