Message from the Manager of the Americas Regional Network

The Americas Regional Network has held two excellent Network gatherings this year, hosted by the Peru GBC in April and the Mexico GBC in August. These meetings are invaluable way for the Network to connect and to help move the entire membership forward. As we look forward to the next Network meeting in October during Congress in Toronto and to our work over the coming months, we will draw on this spirit of collaboration to make progress on the key areas for the Network: education, communication and policy.
We encourage GBCs, especially those new and up-and-coming councils, to take advantage of everything that the Network and WGBC membership has to offer by:
· Attending meetings in person,
· Participating in the task forces and working groups, and
· Joining in campaigns such as World Green Building Week and the Road to Rio+20 to maximize publicity opportunities and show your connection to this leading global movement.
The GBCs in the Americas Regional Network have shown a real spirit of friendship and goodwill along with a passion for transforming their industries. By working together and building on this momentum, we have a remarkable opportunity to shape the growth of the entire region and realize a sustainable future for all of us. To borrow a phrase from an important green building leader, together we can be: IM-presionante!
