Commit

Commit to net zero by 2030 for corporate operations, including buildings, and maximum reductions of embodied carbon for any new developments or major renovations under direct control. Reduce total corporate GHG emissions, including buildings, 30% by 2025 from a 2018 base year.

Disclose scope 1 and 2 operational carbon emissions and performance gaps in annual report. Disclose whole life carbon emissions through acceptable standards.

Act

Use 100% renewable electricity by 2023 and improve portfolio’s building performance through energy efficiency measures. Integrate carbon reduction plans through ARUP’s Environment Policy and Arup Environmental Management Systems certified to ISO14001, verifying energy consumption and whole life carbon emissions data via an independent third party.

Arup have committed to undertaking whole lifecycle carbon assessments for all its buildings projects – new or retrofit, ensuring projects prioritise decarbonisation and adaptation to climate change. Use key principles guided approach to projects, collaboration with clients, and investments.
