Global Climate Strike

Worldwide
Friday 20th September 2019

On Friday 20 September, three days before the UN Climate Action Summit 2019 in New York, young people in the Fridays For Future network are mobilising for their largest Global Climate Strike ever. At the World Green Building Council, we know the next ten years are critical if we are to stand any chance of limiting temperature rises to 1.5 degrees while an urgent shift to net zero carbon buildings, and deep cuts in emissions across the whole built environment is crucial to achieving this goal. Therefore, the World Green Building Council supports the Global Climate Strike and calls on our Green Building Councils and partners to join the strike, set to take place in hundreds of cities around the world.
