Become a Regional Chair or Vice Chair and help us achieve our mission of green buildings for everyone, everywhere

Thursday 31st January 2019

The World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) is leading a global movement of Green Building Councils (GBCs) in almost 70 countries around the world, who are transforming the places we live, work, play, heal and learn. Buildings and construction account for 39% of energy related CO2 emissions and our aim is to transform the industry to decarbonise by 2050 and limit global temperature rises to under 1.5 degrees.

With offices in London and Toronto, we are organised across five regional networks: Africa, the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East & North Africa.

We’re now looking for new Regional Chairs and Vice Chairs to help us achieve our mission of green buildings for everyone, everywhere!

  • Supporting local, regional and national governments in creating metrics and indicators that enable Member States to implement national renovation strategies (Europe, BUILD UPON project)
  • Convenining to develop guidelines for sustainably redeveloping post-conflict areas (MENA, Sustainable Reconstruction and Rehabilitation project)
  • Supporting the private sector in overcoming awareness and technical barriers in committing to, and delivering, net zero carbon in operations, including in high density, hot and humid climates (Asia Pacific, Advancing Net Zero project)
  • Creating a centralized regional platform that can support nacent green building movements across several countries (Africa, regional strategy)

We’re looking for leaders who in particular have:

  • A commitment not only to the GBC model but to scaling the impact of that model through the development of a strong and successful regional network
  • Effective communication and facilitations skills that will set a tone and culture of collaboration that acknowledges and encourages the diversity within a network
