Thursday 30th January 2014

The Dutch Green Building Council has appointed a new managing director. As of 1 February 2014, Annemarie van Doorn will succeed current managing director Stefan van Uffelen.

Annemarie has worked at the Corporate Sustainable Development Department within the ABN AMRO bank for many years. Within that same period, she also initiated and managed the first Green Business Clubs in the Netherlands. She was also one of the founders of the Dutch Green Building Council in 2008.

"I have always felt very involved in the Dutch Green Building Council", said the new director in response on her appointment. "I also love that I can contribute to the further development of the organisation. Together with our members, we have already done a lot of work in these past years. There is a solid basis to build on.

Jaap Gillis, chairman of the Board of the DGBC is delighted with the arrival of Annemarie van Doorn: "She is an experienced professional who is well known in the industry and within the DGBC . Annemarie van Doorn has the qualities to continue the policies initiated by the Governing Board internally and bring important sustainability themes to the public. This ensures that the Dutch Green Building Council will maintain its leading position. Naturally the board is extremely satisfied with the results that Stefan Uffelen and his team have achieved already."

The new director is looking forward to starting work. According to Annemarie van Doorn the Dutch Green Building Council plays an important role in the sector and has a great responsibility. "We have to show again and again what is the value of sustainability. I feel challenged to work with the team and the members of the DGBC to make the need for sustainability even clearer. That’s why we will focus on topics such as health and comfort in the near future."
