This event is part of a series of events that make up valuable contribution SEED (those who have specific knowledge) to "SB14 Barcelona Word" (Word Sustainable Building 2014) in Barcelona.

This fourth edition of the Annual Conference of Colombia, or GFA (Gran Forum Annual) 2013 under the theme "Urban Sustainability in Action" had the support of all GBC (s) Latin American, gathered government officials from Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Peru , Chile, Argentina and representatives of the US Green Building Council, World Green Building Council, British Establishment Research UK and Green Building Council Brasil, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Spain, Chile and Panama.

Brazil participated in the panel discussion "Sustainable Housing Summit" on May 8 presenting the "case" Selo Casa Azul CAIXA environmental certification for the first project of sustainable social housing in São Paulo by architect Cristina Hana Shoji and presentation of the constructive method of panels with mortar Armada and middle insert of EPS used in large-scale projects to build houses for all levels (including social programs) widely used by LCP Engineering and Construction Ltd. in Brazil for 27 years and now more recently in African territory by Eng Lourdes Cristina D. Printes, got a great audience for being real case projects of successful application of methodologies and modes, equipment and methodology to service the greater number of requirement attendance of an environmental certification, not only to Selo Casa Azul CAIXA , as well as the processes benchmark of LEED by USGBC and Referencial CASAS by GBC Brasil.

On May 9 the Brazilian speakers participated in the panel's collaborative "International Leaders Roundtable of the United Nations for Sustainable Building" offering suggestions of actual indicators and methodologies used in Brazil, global parameters for the development by UNEP-SBCI for effective reporting on:

  • Formatting Public Policies for the development of neighborhoods and homes with social sustainability, urbanization, access, and quality of life for residents.
  • How to include the PPP (s) - (public private partnerships) and funding from financial institutions, more qualitative parameters (social and cultural) increasing the quality of life in housing, quality of materials used, improvements in the environment and consequent increase in the index happiness of the citizen resident of the community.

Our experience in building social quality, social parameters and indicators required by the environmental Selo Casa Azul CAIXA by Federal Savings and Benchmark Referencial CASAS by GBC Brasil were shared with other international participants from Chile, Panama, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Peru with mediation from WorldGBC and UNEP.

The content displayed and discussed in these roundtables will be drafted a document that will be presented in August 2013 in Barcelona, ushering in a new category: SB14 Barcelona World LatAm SEED **.
