New partner for Americas Regional Network

The World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) Americas Regional Network welcomes the Basel Agency for Sustainable Energy (BASE) as new partner.

BASE uses a unique combination of expertise to unlock investment in sustainable energy to meet the challenge of climate change. They develop innovative ideas and tailored market-driven solutions for public and private organisations. In Latin America, BASE advises organisations on how to provide clean energy in rural areas, energy efficiency 

As a partner to the WorldGBC Americas Regional Network, BASE will be working with the local Green Building Councils to mainstream a Cooling as a Service (CaaS) business. CaaS is an initiative lead by BASE along with the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program (K-CEP) that overcomes key market and financial barriers to increase and accelerate the adoption of energy efficient cooling technologies and the use of climate-friendly refrigerants gases.

Daniel Magallón, Managing Director, BASE said: “BASE is very excited to have joined efforts with WorldGBC, a key player in sustainable buildings, with Cooling as a Service and the global mission to unlock investment in climate-friendly and energy-efficient cooling solutions.”

Juanita Aalvarez, Head WorldGBC Americas Regional Network said: “We’re delighted to enter into this partnership to enable our Green Building Councils to investigate new solutions to providing energy to Latin America.”
