Reporting

This page contains all of the information required for participating in the reporting process for the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment.

The form has been developed in collaboration with the Commitment Taskforce, Technical Working Group and through consultation with founding signatories. The Reporting Form collects information on the progress made by signatories against the requirements of the Commitment. The Reporting Form is intended to detail the leadership and ambition being undertaken to meet Commitment goals while being simple and complementary to existing processes as much as possible. In the long term, we will look to continually improve the form to respond to signatory needs and refine alignment with internationally recognised reporting initiatives.

Who needs to report?

All signatories are required to report two years after signing up. Signatories are very welcome to report earlier if they wish. The more signatories the better.

For 2020: Signatories from 2018 and earlier must complete reporting.

How do I report?

To make the reporting process as smooth and simple as possible, WorldGBC has developed the Commitment Reporting Form. This has been created in conjunction with our Technical Working Group, Commitment Taskforce and through consultation with founding signatories.

Please fill out the relevant sections of the reporting form. See the about tab for more details. Submit back to WorldGBC via email by the end of the reporting period.

To help you understand and navigate the Reporting Form, WorldGBC has created a short 10 min walkthrough video for you to reference before starting below.

What needs to be reported?

The Reporting Form has been divided into six tabs to make the document easy to reference and fill-out. The reporting form is a mix of both quantitative and qualitative style questions. It has been separated into administrative questions and then questions related to the Commitment including commit, disclose, act, verify and advocate. The tabs that need to be completed depend on the time since a signatory joined the Commitment and the progress made to date. For more information on timings and what is required, please see the below table:

WorldGBC, of course, encourages any signatory who would like to report progress against the other requirements of the Commitment this year to do as such. This information will be very useful for us to help:

  • provide success stories that can be shared through impact reporting
  • demonstrate industry insights
  • future trends to consider and increase ambition
  • refine and update our reporting form and processes

When do I need to report by?

All reporting periods will give ample time for signatories to complete their reporting. Dates for open and close of reporting may change year to year but generally run from Q2 to Q3. Exacts dates will be provided well in advance. For the current year, the reporting dates are: 5th June - 2nd October.

All Reporting Forms for the 2020 reporting year must be received by COB GMT Friday 2nd October.
