Veev is working towards redefining the "dirty side" of the industry. Traditional construction has taken a significant toll on the environment and Veev is striving to be an outlier, to transform the industry from cradle-to-grave to a closed-loop cycle. From project inception to everyday living, sustainability is embedded in Veev's design and decision-making process, from pursuing certifications to procuring 100% recycled steel and zero carbon concrete. This means zero waste, carbon negative, and beyond: environmental regeneration.
Commit
Commit to only occupying, owning and developing net zero operational carbon assets, achieving maximum reductions of embodied carbon across new developments and major renovations, by 2030.
Disclose
Measure and publicly disclose annual energy consumption and whole life carbon emissions, producing an annual GHG Report and submitting to CDP and GRESB. Use data to contribute to an annual CSR report outlining future goals and targets.
Act
Develop and implement a decarbonisation roadmap for owned and occupied assets, including energy efficiency measures, installing on-site renewables and securing PPAs / RECs, maximising embodied reductions for any new developments or major renovations. Deliver developments that are net zero operational, pursuing LEED and Energy Star certifications with on-site renewable generation, with maximum reductions in embodied carbon achieved through utilising low carbon materials such as zero carbon steel (Nucor Econiq and U.S Steel VerdeX), carbon cure slag + fly ash concrete, cellulose insulation, and construction methods.
Verify
Verify energy consumption and whole life carbon emission data (including appropriate embodied carbon calculations) annually via an independent third party.
Advocate
Advocate for further market transformation by collaborating with suppliers to understand how they are committed to the environment and align purchasing accordingly. Research the latest technology, certifications, and commitments and look to develop alternative construction methodologies and carbon sink materials.
